“After the ‘Forever Forward’ film, and ‘125? gallery show and book with Arena Homme+, there’s a certain parallel with Nike’s innovation talk, meaning these black and red editions with bonus Hyperfuse looks are a decent shoe. But that alone would still be kind of underwhelming, right? The custom box carries some Arsenal-related photographs, the red outsole and ‘CXXV’ on the tongue makes all the difference, while the spot varnished text, and a 22ct gold lace jewel (also known as a dubrae if you’re a fancy talker) carrying the iconic Gunners’ logo is apparently made by a Cartier jeweler all works. That extra luxury, and the decision to make these a silhouette that resonates with a British audience, rather than the bulk of an Air Force 1 works well.”

“The padding and lining have been removed and the shoe itself has been pared back to reveal a minimalist construction that has more in common with dress shoes than Rucker Park. The laces are hand-rolled and stitched. The leather-wrapped midsole is both lighter and softer than a standard Air Force. The sockliner is premium leather with full-length memory foam. The hang tags are also leather, with personalised laser etching all part of the package. All in all, it’s a radical and classy upmarket overhaul of the Uptown, Nike’s bona fide NYC sneaker franchise. And if that’s not enough, the first 30 customers through the Mercer Street doors will receive their Bespokes inside a wooden box made from reclaimed fir, complete with laser etching and a custom seal.”

Supreme has teamed up with Timberland to release an updated version of the Euro Hiker.   For that early 90′s look!
